Fleur de Lis
The fleur de lis design features a common symbol seen throughout Catholicism. The fleur de lis is a stylized lily or lotus flower symbolizing purity, chastity, the Trinity, as well as the Virgin Mary. This classic symbol will inspire your prayer time, whether you are snuggling with the blanket, using it as an altar cloth, or watching your kids play Mass.
Liturgical Colors
Liturgical colors have a central role in the life and rhythm of the Catholic Church. Each color is rich in meaning, adding to the depth of the liturgy and our faith.
- Violet or purple signifies penance, preparation, and anticipation. It is used during Advent and Lent, which are seasons of repentance, reflection, and spiritual preparation. Purple reminds Catholics to reflect on their sins, seek forgiveness, and prepare for the coming of Christ.
- Pink or Rose is a more subdued color used on the third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday) and the fourth Sunday of Lent (Laetare Sunday). It represents joy and a brief reprieve during the penitential seasons of Advent and Lent.
It's important to note that the liturgical colors may vary in some traditions and rites within the Catholic Church.
