Divine Mercy IHS Sticker

The Divine Mercy IHS vinyl sticker is perfect for almost any surface. Try the sticker on your laptop, water bottle, or phone case. Stickers can go just about anywhere you can think of! Additionally, stickers are dishwasher safe and can stand up to the elements as well. This sticker measures approximately 3'' tall. The IHS symbol is a popular Christological monogram. Originally the IHS abbreviation came from the Greek abbreviation of the name of Jesus (ΙΗΣΟΥΣ shortened to ΙΗΣ). The Greek letter sigma (the funny looking E) in Latin is "S", thus forming the IHS monogram. Throughout the centuries this monogram has taken on different meanings, including "Jesus Hominum Salvator", "In Hoc Signo", and others. In 1541 Saint Ignatius adopted the monogram as one of the main symbols for the Jesuits. However, history teaches us that the IHS symbol is not specifically Jesuit. Rather, IHS is a well known symbol for Jesus. With this classic symbol as inspiration, I took many titles and understandings of Jesus to prayer. From that prayer and reflection came the entire IHS sticker series. This sticker in particular celebrates Jesus' revelation and image given to Saint Faustina: Divine Mercy. This sticker design seeks to incorporate the main symbols of the Divine Mercy image with the IHS monogram. As such, the IHS letters are a brilliant white, similar to how Saint Faustina describes Jesus in her visions of Him. The cross is a very subtle creamy color, backlit by a bright light, which makes the brilliance of the IHS stand out all the more. Then, flowing out from the center of the cross are the red and white rays! At the bottom of the sticker are clouds, which Jesus appears standing on in images of the Divine Mercy.
