Pope Saint John Paul II is one of the most recognized figured in the world. Truly his travels and works are well known, and the impact of his life's work will be felt for for years to come. Undeniably, one of his most popular phrases is "Be not afraid". Upon being named pope one of the first things that he told the crowds gathered is "be not afraid."
It was that phrase that became most associated with his pontificate. Additionally, Pope John Paul II spoke numerous languages and repeated this phrase in those languages.
