Quick Takes{One}

One year ago this past Wednesday (June 5th), I finished the very first draft of Worthy! It is so beautiful to see it come full circle, to see it published and be able to hold it in my hands. The bits of feedback I’ve gotten from readers so far have been absolutely wonderful and I’m SO excited to finally be able to share the book with anyone and everyone!

I’ve just now decided that blogs should probably not be written late at night. I don’t usually have a regular blogging time of day, though perhaps late at night isn’t the best. My brain is a bit fried from the day, but alas, the blog must go on. Random quick take number two: my favorite snack/sandwich is a peanut butter and nutella sandwich on white bread or a plain or egg bagel. Delish.

In case you missed it, be sure to check out the “Not Alone” series! Words can hardly express how excited I am to be linking up with these wonderful gals! Some weeks this will mean that there will be four, yes FOUR new blogs in a single week! I’ll post my usual Monday post, the “Not Alone” series on Tuesdays, Wednesdays (which will continue with my “just don’t say it” series until I run out of ideas *hint hint*), and then the normal Friday Quick Takes! That sounds like a lot of blogging, but when God inspires it, I don’t mind writing! When God stops letting the words flow out of my keyboard on to the screen, I’ll stop writing, plain and simple.

{Three Point One}

Tuesday’s post is going to be rad. I’m so darn excited about it – all about discernment!

{Three Point Two}

Monday’s post will also be rad. As will Wednesday’s. Basically…there are some rock-star awesome blogs coming up next week, be sure to come back and check them out!

Speaking of continued writing…I’ve been fielding a lot of questions lately about a sequel to Worthy and/or my next book. The simple answer: when God inspires me to write another book, I will, but until then I’ve got nothing concrete in the works.
The longer answer: are you kidding me?! Haha! I loved writing this book and am loving sharing it with everyone, so I really just want to let it ride, enjoy not having my free time sucked away by book editing, and go from there. All in God’s good time, folks!

Book quote from…somewhere in the book. I could tell you which chapter it is from, or I could just let you pick up the book for yourself and figure it out! 😉 {Order signed copies here!}

“Jesus was never alone and neither are we. He has told us that there will be trouble, not to frighten us, but to invite us to find peace in Him…Jesus has conquered the world. God marches before us always. Take heart, dear friends. Jesus has triumphed over the world and invites you into His Father’s heart to be healed so that, with Him by our sides, we too may conquer the lies of the world and be found worthy.”

Song of the week…“Just Give Me A Reason” by Pink, featuring Nate Ruess, because I just can’t get it out of my head…or turn off the repeat button once this song comes on. Enjoy!

Scriptural awesomeness…and a really cool story:
This week I was reading my favorite chapter in the Bible, Hosea 2. I’ve written a fair amount of blogs about Hosea 2, the idea of being called into the desert, and how God relates to my heart, even when I play the harlot. What I didn’t realize is that the heading of Hosea 3 is “Triumph of Love”. In the first section of the book I write about the lies Satan tells us and what can happen when we buy into those lies. In the second section of the book I write about overcoming those lies through faith, specifically looking at the lives of Jesus and Mary. The second section is called…”The Triumph of Love”. I get goosebumps just thinking about all the little things God was and is doing without my knowledge. He’s just so good. Now go read Hosea 2 and 3!

Until next time 😉
