down the aisle, to Eternity.
Two years ago today I walked down the aisle and married Anthony. Like all married couples, we said the vows not knowing how they would play out in our lives. A lot of people told us that the first year of marriage would be the hardest. For us, at least in my opinion, the second year was harder, and also more joy-filled. We've had our fair share of disagreements, late nights spent, uh, conversing back and forth, and more trials than I imagined we'd endure. But on the flip side, we've experienced more joy from our vocation as well. Despite the hardships, we discerned a change in job for Anthony, one that will move our growing family around for at least the next two years.
We talked a lot about taking a trip without our daughter for our second anniversary and getting to spend a night alone. In reality, we have taken a trip - a trip to Florida for FOCUS training. Our day today will be jam packed with classes and prayer and hopefully soon we'll get to take a little date to honor and celebrate our anniversary.
Looking back on these last two years, especially this most recent one, I can't help but be grateful for the partner God called me to in this vocation. Anthony is my path to heaven, and I am his. We argue together, love together, parent together, discern together, pray together, and, most importantly, reach for heaven together. It is trying and beautiful. I love the story of how we got to where we are today - all the bumps and giggles along the way - but I'm even more excited to see where God is leading us. We may have walked down the aisle two years ago today, but we are still walking the path that will - God willing - lead us to eternity. So here's to many more years and a whole heap of holiness thrown in along the way.
I love you, Anthony. Thanks for making me your wife and continuing to treat me like your beautiful bride every day. Most of all, thank you for encouraging me to be holier so that I may one day become a saint.
