Blogger confession: I wrote this on Monday of this week. Why? Because I know that if I write it any later in the week you will get nothing but gibberish because my brain is already mentally checking out…vacation! Depending on when you are reading this bit-o-random-ness I’ll be on a plane, in a car, and all around having fun! Words cannot express how much I am ready for and need this vacation. The fact that I booked it three months ago doesn’t at all add to how much I’m ready to rest and relax for a bit! HELLO VACATION!

Either I really have vacation brain, or my blogger brain is fried. I know that I’ve written before about how many blog posts I seem to be cranking out lately (Hi, I wrote six last week after running vacation bible school…), but this week not so much.
Don’t forget, if you want to write a guest post for the “just don’t say it” series, I’d be more than happy to feature you! Leave me a comment or shoot me an e-mail with your idea and let’s talk! {Also, Wednesday’s post next week won’t be part of the “just don’t say it” series…but you’ll see why!} 😉
{Two Point One}
I finally finished reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen this week! I bought a giant collection of four of her books for $8 a while back. I figured that I was finally done editing my book so I could now enjoy reading something else. If you’ve been reading my book you can probably tell that P&P is my favorite movie eva’. But somehow I hadn’t actually read the book yet. I almost always read the book before I see the movie, but not so with P&P. The end result? Some parts of the book I liked better than the movie (the Keira Knightley version, I have yet to watch the BBC version), but on the whole I was kind of disappointed by the book. Hollywood gets one point on that one…and I still love my favorite movie, even if it isn’t totally accurate to Jane Austen’s original text (what movie ever is?).

For the record, Vacation Bible School was actually a lot of fun! I can honestly say that I was kind of dreading it (especially after coming off of a sleep-deprived retreat weekend), but I really enjoyed it. Those little kids were just so darn cute and they loved learning about bible characters and singing songs and such! It was still exhausting, but their joy and excitement made it worth it. Someone remind me of that when I’m running Totus Tuus at the end of July…

Other random bits of house-keeping (or should I say blog-keeping?) things: I may not post quick takes next week since I’ll still be on vacation. If I do, expect seven picture of vacation…and maybe a few words. If the quick takes aren’t up, you’ll know why! Know that I’m keeping you all in prayer as I vacation and I’ll be back to normal once I return from vacation! Same goes for the “Not Alone Series” link up…I may get that done/polish it up before vacation, but I might not. Ever since Sunday evening my brain has begun counting down the hours until I’m on a plane bound for somewhere warm and wonderful 😉

Perhaps I should stop going on and on about my vacation now…so, as per my usual, quick take number five is a quote from the book:
“The cat is out of the bag and the truth has been revealed. We can no longer hide from the fact that we are not only seen, sought, and pursued, but we are also worthy of love, and a divine, unconditional love at that. What happens when truth has been revealed to us? It changes us…When the apostles hear word that Jesus has been raised and the tomb is empty, the truth changes them and their mission in life. When Jesus reveals His risen self to them, they can no longer hide in the Upper Room “for fear of the Jews,” rather, they are moved by the peace that Jesus brings them, to go out into the world and preach about the Son of God.”

Song of the week…too catchy and happy not to feature here: Goes Like This by Thomas Rhett (he’s 23?!?)

Finally, the Year of Faith bit of wisdom from the Catechism this week:
“What God commands He makes possible by His grace.” -CCC 2082
How true is that? If He leads you to it, He will lead you through it. If He commands it, if He wills it, He will make it possible through His abundant grace!
I hope you have a lovely holiday weekend – got any exciting plans?
Until next time 😉
