an appetite for Beauty.

The Good.
The True.
The Beautiful.
They all teach us something about God. I have an unquenchable appetite for Beauty. As is fairly typical, I’ve been bitten by the road trip bug. I want to get out of the city. I want to experience something larger than myself, something grand, something beautiful. I want to experience God.

So, being that today is Labor Day, the blog – word wise – will be short. I’ve decided to share some pictures of places I’ve been that, at least in some small way, capture the Beauty for which my soul longs.

Mirror Lake in Wyoming. My heart rests here.

Devil’s Tower in Wyoming

Cathedral in Rapid City, SD

The road into Mepkin Abbey, Moncks Corner, SC
My favorite place in the world to be for sunset.

The open road…somewhere in the South.

Crystal Lake, near Conifer, Colorado

Sunset at Webster Lake

Lake Estes, Estes Park, Colorado

Sunset at Denver International Airport

Lily Lake, Estes Park, Colorado

I hunger for the Beautiful, but at the root of it all, I know why my hunger for Beauty is unquenchable: my true hunger is for God. Only in Heaven will my appetite for Him be completely nourished.
