The Song of the Week is, at least for this week, back! I finally, finally bought Tyrone Wells’ EP “Beautiful World” last week and let me say it is worth every penny. I have yet to come across a song from Tyrone that I don’t like, and after seeing him in concert in May I fell even more in love with his music. He is a class act, to say the very least. There are some songs that have the ability to stop you dead in your tracks the very first time you listen to them and this song was one of those songs for me. I downloaded the EP and let it play in the background and when this song came on, something about it just made me stop and listen. And fall in love. Do yourself a favor and go buy anything and everything Tyrone Wells

This song is simply beautiful, lyrically, musically beautiful. The first time I heard it (because simply reading the lyrics doesn’t do this song justice) I couldn’t help but imagine a newlywed couple dancing their first dance to this song. The song is slow and calm, and yet excited for this moment, this very moment right now. “All my life I’ve waiting for this moment now.” Maybe it is the girl in me, but such wording instantly conjures up wedding images.
Then, as I listened to the song on repeat, in my usual fashion, I imagined the lyrics in a godly way. What about the first time I really encountered God? All my life I had, whether I knew it or not, been waiting for that moment when I saw God as the loving Father that He is. In His eyes I know that I am found and that I am home. It is so good to feel the way I do when I simply rest in His presence, and more often than not I can’t find the words to say to Him because I am so in awe. I will show him how I feel, show Him by following Him and by seeking His heart all of my days. The bridge fits perfectly in relation to God, “There’s nothing I’d rather do then be here now with You.” Nothing. Nothing in all of the world I’d rather do then be with God, in each and every moment. Which got me thinking…couldn’t this song be about every moment? God calls us to each moment we find ourselves in. All our lives were made for God, all our lives we’ve been waiting to serve Him, to play a role in His plan for us. He brings the crowd down to One, it is all about Him. He is the Light behind all the beauty in the world. He is in every moment.
May this moment, and every one after, be filled with His glory. This moment…now.
