what marriage is teaching Me. {vol. 5}
what marriage is teaching me link upHappy Thanksgiving, y'all! Last Thursday of the month means it is time for another 'what marriage is teaching me' link-up. Post yours in the comments below! Since it is Thanksgiving, I'm going to try to keep this month's installment short, but I've got two things that marriage is teaching me: 1. That I'm not perfect 2. Gratefulness That I'm Not Perfect That really shouldn't be a news flash, and yet it is. Marriage - at least to another less-than-perfect human (because, hi, I didn't marry Jesus) - makes me realize my own imperfection. I'm not a mind-reader. I'm not perfect and sometimes, more often than I care to admit, I hurt Anthony. But the beautiful thing about realizing that I'm not perfect is that I still have time to grow. I have a chance to realize my imperfection(s), grow and become holy. Even more beautiful is that in realizing my own imperfections, I'm realizing that God loves me just as I am, imperfections and all. (And so does Anthony!) Realizing that I'm not perfect might sound like a bad thing, but if anything its turned out to be a really, really good thing. Gratefulness Anthony and I have married for almost six months now (it would be six months on the 31st of November but that isn't a thing) and each day I'm finding new ways to be grateful for him and grateful for the gift of marriage. I'm grateful for foot rubs from my husband at the end of a long day. I'm grateful for the ways he loves on our baby already. I'm just grateful all the way around, and grateful that in spite of the trails we've faced, our marriage continues to come out stronger. I'm grateful to Anthony and even more grateful to the God who brought us together - and that is a reason to give thanks.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? What is marriage teaching you? Post the links to your blog in the comments!
