Quick Takes{One}

I’m sure you are all dying to know whether or not the book proposal has been accepted. In case you are new to the blog and have no idea what on earth I’m talking about, I’ve written a book. To learn all about the book and the road to writing it and submitting proposals to publishers, click here. To find out whether one of the publishers has accepted or rejected said book proposal…read on!

Due to some anonymous comments and nay-sayers and other less than cordial folks hanging out around the blog, I’ve formally posted a commenting policy which you can find here. The policy doesn’t really affect most of my commenters, but just in case, it is there, out in the open. Party on, folks!

The book proposal that I actually, legitimately heard a response about…and the response is… rejection. I didn’t even like typing out that word, much less reading it. Actually, the e-mail response was personal, and never said rejection but simply said they were passing on my proposal. I knew this could happen, I had just hoped it wouldn’t. I’m waiting to hear back from one more publisher and then I’ll go from there. God knows what He is doing, but this was still a little hard to hear, ya know?
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so, so much for your prayers on this project. I firmly believe that they keep me going and are helping me to take this rejection in stride.

Last week I announced that I’ll be hosting my first ever link up! It will go live on Ash Wednesday and run through Easter Sunday. I’m inviting everyone to write about their favorite prayer, either an original prayer you’ve written or one you have found comfort in over the years. Lent is a time of prayer and reflection so be sure to check back here for loads of great and inspiring prayers! That being said…here’s the official image for the link-up if you’d like to start sharing it now! More guidelines and such to come next week!

I’m so excited that another one of my blog posts has been picked up by Catholic Lane!Guard Your Heart” is among my favorite posts I’ve ever written! It has gotten a lot of traffic this week over at Ignitum and now it is getting traffic at Catholic Lane! It is such an important concept in all areas of our life, not just dating and relationships!

Song of the week is…“A Place Only You Can Go” by NeedToBreathe. Just listen, you can thank me later.

{Seven}

Scripture verse of the week is…“See, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil.” – Deuteronomy 30:15. I had to memorize two verses from the Pentateuch (the first 5 books of the bible) for my mid-term in Biblical School this week and this was one of them. God sets before us a choice, life and good or death and evil. What will we choose?

Until next time 😉
